Ah, this makes more sense – as in, the more I think about it, the more
I have a cognitive dissonance. :) On one hand it’s obvious for me that
'1.8.7' is larger than '1.8' and so Ruby’s Sting#<=> works as expected
for RUBY_VERSION numbers; on the other, I can see now how ‘larger than
'1.8'’ can be seen as an equivalent to ‘larger or equal to '1.9'’.

Still, you wouldn’t make the question go away with switching from
Strings to Version objects; you’d still have to address whether
1.8.7 > 1.8 is true or not (and now I can’t say for sure which is
PoLS in my book, but I’m still kind of biased towards it being true).
